TORONTO, ON July 15, 2025 – AlayaCare, a leading provider of cloud-based home and community care solutions, is proud to announce it has been selected by four service agencies in Nova Scotia — all members of Diverse Abilities Nova Scotia (DANS) — to support a province-wide transformation from institutional care to person-centered, community-based services.
Following a rigorous review process, The Meadows Community (Bridgetown, NS), Breton Ability (Sydney, NS), Sunset Community (Pugwash, NS), and Balsam Care (Bridgewater, NS) have all signed with AlayaCare as their EMR provider. Collectively, they currently employ nearly 1,000 people and serve over 450 participants. These organizations are leading the charge as Nova Scotia responds to the Human Rights Remedy a ruling that recognized the rights of individuals with disabilities to live in community-based settings with appropriate supports, fundamentally shifting away from institutional models of care.
For these agencies, AlayaCare’s scheduling and care management capabilities are among the most critical to achieving their transformation goals. DANS organizations were looking for the most innovative technology to support participants as they move from facility-based settings to community living.
