Aleem Bhanji is a senior leader at AlayaCare, adjunct faculty at the University of Toronto and National Health Fellow. With over 20 years of experience in executive leadership, digital health strategy, and project execution, Aleem currently serves as the Market Lead for AlayaCare’s Canadian market. This means that Aleem is responsible for developing AlayaCare’s Canadian strategy and aligning the company’s internal teams to meet the needs of its customers today and into the future, based on healthcare trends and technological advances. In a voluntary capacity, Aleem has been involved with non-profit organizations, serving as a director on various Boards for over two decades. He also volunteers his time and efforts in establishing primary home-based care programs throughout Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Aleem has earned a bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics & computer science from the University of Waterloo, a master’s degree in health sciences from the University of Toronto and is a member of the Canadian College of Health Executives. In September 2024, Aleem was also recognized as a Canadian National Health Fellow.

He has held many different roles in positions such as software engineering, system architecture, product management, business strategy, CTO as well as leading many Development and Cloud Engineering teams in international environments. JF holds an Engineering Degree in Computer Science and Robotics from Marseille Polytechnic University and an MBA from John Molson School of Business, Concordia University in Montreal. JF is a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec. JF has two kids and enjoys outdoor sports.

Her expertise spans a broad range of skills, including change management, organizational and leadership development, and regulatory matters, with specific career concentration in the health care sector. She has served as HR/Labour Relations/SVP in hospitals, long-term care, retirement living, home and community care, private health care, and was a leader in the developing medical cannabis industry in Canada. She is an active home health care advocate and serves on many boards and thinktanks, acting as trusted advisor to several boards of directors. Josephine is widely recognized in the health care sector for her work in senior care/housing and hospital and community care. Most recently, Josephine began serving as CEO at CarePartners, an accredited national home and community health services provider organization heavily concentrated in Ontario. As CarePartners CEO, Josephine has led this large, dispersed health care organization through a pandemic and health care human resources crisis, while advocating for worker safety, awareness of specific home and community care issues, and pushing for improvements in the overall Canadian health care system. Josephine is an active Vice Chair on the Board of Directors at Home Care Ontario, an organization designated as the voice of home care. In addition to her frequent collaboration with other home and community service providers, various level of government teams, and industry partners, Josephine’s passion lies in modernizing health care and innovating to support the ministry of health’s plan to improve patient capacity, access and appropriate care. She enjoys volunteering time to support entrepreneurs successfully scale their businesses using people-strategy techniques, and participates in “pay it forward” mentality by providing mentoring and career transition support, with concentration on those in marginalized communities. Josephine loves spending time with her family and two children, and the family is frequently involved in community- minded projects with the objective of serving others.

Meet Kris Aiken, the President and Co-Founder of our dynamic team. Kris's journey is as diverse and compelling as the city he now calls home – Toronto. Before leading The Care Company to new heights, Kris showcased his tenacity and discipline as a professional football player for the Argonauts from 2004 to 2006. This early chapter instilled in him the importance of teamwork and perseverance, qualities that continue to define his leadership style today. Following his time on the field, Kris transitioned seamlessly into the healthcare industry. From 2009 to 2016, he served as a surgical device sales representative and regional manager, working closely with doctors and nurses in the Operating Room. This hands-on experience not only honed his business acumen but also fueled his passion for making a meaningful impact in healthcare. In 2016, Kris took a new direction, entering the realm of Home Healthcare. This shift was inspired by a deeply personal experience – watching his father tirelessly care for his grandmother for many years. Witnessing the challenges faced by his father ignited Kris's desire to provide support and assistance to individuals in similar situations. His dedication to improving the lives of others is at the core of The Care Company’s mission. She is a registered nurse by profession, and a seasoned healthcare executive whose career spans 32 years with experience extending primary care, public health, home care coordination, tertiary care specialties in pediatrics, nephrology, oncology, surgery, critical care and professional practice. She's participated in several electronic health record implementations in hospitals. Most recently, she is the clinical executive lead for the Carefor Health and Community Services AlayaCare implementation. Carefor has successfully implemented AlayaCare for its home and clinical care business line and, as of September 27, have gone live with their phase 2 implementation, onboarding their retirement home business line and community support services in AlayaCare as a business solution to modernize their business.
